Logline: 

When Ruqaiaya, a brutally honest fortune teller, meets Maya, a young refugee, she is forced to tell her first lie.

Rugaiya (30s) 

An unapologetically blunt fortune teller who has dedicated her life to her practice. Coming from a lineage of fortune tellers, the practice is sacred to her and she refuses to comfort her clients at the expense of the truth. Her clairvoyance makes it so she knows all about life without having to experience any of it - or does she? She is amused when forcing clients to confront the truth, but is forced to reevaluate her jaded candor when she meets little Maya.

Maya (7) 

Adventurous and cheeky. While she may not possess any magical ability, her worldview is entirely magical. She has a curious personality and is not afraid to speak her mind.
